Christian Reflections by C.S. Lewis

Shortly after his conversion in 1929, C. S. Lewis wrote to a friend, When all is said (and absolutely said) about the divisions of Christendom, there remains, through God’s mercy, a large common floor.

From that point on, Lewis’s notion that the pleasant service he ought to do for his unbelieving neighbors was to give an explanation for and protect the perception that has been common to almost all Christians in any respect times that large common ground which he typically called mere Christianity.

Lewis’s protection of Christianity became colorfully varied the topics he protected ranged widely, along with Christianity and literature, Christianity and culture, ethics, futility, church music, modern theology and biblical criticism, the Psalms, and petitionary prayer.

Presented in chronological order, a number of the fourteen papers protected on this series have been written particularly for periodicals, while others, posted right here for the first time, were read to societies in and around Oxford and Cambridge.

Common to them all, however, is the uniquely powerful style of C. S. Lewis and the basic presuppositions of his theology his mere Christianity.
